Simon is currently the Associate Musical Director of the Australian revival of EVITA (starring Tina Arena), directed by Hal Prince. Previously, he was the Musical Director of the brand new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE WOMAN IN WHITE (nominated as a finalist for Best Musical Director for the Off West End ‘Offie’ Awards) and Ray Rackham’s revue JUST ANOTHER LOVE STORY showcasing the music and lyrics of Stephen Sondheim. He was recently the Musical Director of the UK Premiere of TENDERLY - THE ROSEMARY CLOONEY MUSICAL (also nominated for Best Musical Director for the Off West End ‘Offie’ Awards), Musical Director of Tim Rice’s revamped production of BLONDEL at the Union Theatre, Musical Supervisor/Arranger for the West End production of Ray Rackham’s play JUDY! (formally called THROUGH THE MILL) after previous productions at the London Theatre Workshop and the transfer to the Southwark Playhouse, the Assistant Musical Director on the UK/European Tour of CATS and Musical Director of the BWW:UK Award-winning London Premiere of THE SPITFIRE GRILL at the Union Theatre (Best New Production of a Musical (Fringe/Regions)).
Simon was the Associate Musical Director of the World Tour of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (2013 - 2015), A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM starring Geoffrey Rush, and the acclaimed Australian production of LOVE NEVER DIES (filmed for DVD/Blu-ray with Simon conducting the prerecords under supervision from Andrew Lloyd Webber), where he served as Acting Musical Director for several months. This included conducting at the Sydney Opera House for the 2011 Helpmann Awards.
Simon has toured Australia with David Campbell on his “Broadway” Tour (also recorded for DVD), received a Green Room Award nomination as the Musical Director for STARTING HERE, STARTING NOW at the Arts Centre Melbourne, and was the Artist-In-Residence Musical Director for both URINETOWN with the University of Ballarat Arts Academy and SHOWBITES with Victorian College of the Arts. In 2010, Simon toured the United Kingdom with the Midnite Youth Theatre Company performing his own musical THE TRAVELLING, which included a sell-out performance at Sadler's Wells Theatre in London.
